Ourtimeline.
The Independent Practice Owners group, and in turn its steering committee, have one focus. And that focus is purely on Private Dentistry. Namely supporting Independent Practice Owners.
We started this group with a need and we fought (successfully) in the face of adversity to reopen independent practice on the 8th of June in a safe, controlled and covid-19 aware way. We continued to fight for the rights of Independent Practice Owners with the CQC. We made the private practice population aware that the CDO has no bearing on private dentistry. We worked with others to provide our own research and scientific evidence for SOP’s and protocols for reopening. Our platform grew to encompass near all independent practice owners in the U.K. We organised opportunities for the group members to identify and purchase the necessary PPE, equipment and more to get dentistry back to some resemblance of normality.
Our steering group have been very busy behind the scenes, evolving, growing, and focusing on the future of Independent Practice, its needs and what that will mean with regards to true, elected representation.
Over the past two months we have been in deep discussions with dental suppliers, compliance companies, defence companies, dento-legal insurance and more, to enable our profession to benefit directly through coming together under a common, elected, fully independent private dental union.
